The morning was blazing hot! I first went to Mass at St. Isabel's Catholic Church. The parish is old but the building is only four years old, being rebuilt after the last hurricane (Charles) took off the roof. In the back of the church is a lake and garden for meditation. The folks there are very friendly.
After breakfast and slathering on lots of sunscreen, there were several hours of beach time. Then dark clouds rolled in, followed by a steady rain storm. The lightning is spectacular here. What else could we do except shop!
After parking close to and dashing into stores to avoid getting drenched, we were pleased with our finds of the day. Theresa bought several T-shirts on her long list of those who wanted one, and I found a sweet stuffed mother manatee with a baby manatee attached, a flip-flop fridge magnet, and some secret surprises for the kind lady taking care of my outdoor plants while I'm away.
There wasn't any spare time to drop in at the library to post photos here. Sorry! I'll try to do so tomorrow.
The rain stopped, the clouds left, but the sea still was very swift with big waves breaking on the shore quickly and loudly. The rest of this evening was spent either on the lanai viewing the sea show or catching up on TV news. Ah - such a delightful day in this island paradise!
