Picturesque Rural Massachusetts, Day 5

Sunday, August 10, 2014:  Mary and I started our day by participating in Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Brockton, Massachusetts.  Father Joseph gave an inspirational homily for the parishoners and visitors.  We immediately left to attend a family Baptism in Halifax, Massachusetts (please see my relationship blog, www.stoptwistedlove.blogspot.com, for details and photos, today).

The trip through two-lane country roads on Highway 106 was very relaxing and beautiful.  We passed quite a few cranberry bogs, lakes, the small towns of Halifax, Kingston, Plymton, East Bridgewater and West Bridgewater, and neat farms. Unusual places along the way were Stardust Gym, Sachem Rock Farm (pronounced satch-em), Ponkapoag Trail (ponka-pog), and Mistletoe Acres Tree Farm.

Cranberry Bog near Halifax.  In the fall, the bogs are flooded and the red cranberries will float to the top for harvest.

Big and beautiful Lake Monponsett, near Halifax, Massachusetts, 8/10/14.

Mary had no idea as to the significance of this bird statue atop a monument in the town square of West Bridgewater, but it was different!

Indian Pond Country Club, Kingston, Massachusetts, site of Carter's party.

Mary is definitely helping little Carter celebrate.

Dave's brother's Chris' family: Ryan, wife, Wendi, Chris, and Dan.

Little Carter wore his little self out with all the celebration!

After the wonderful party, Mary and I left so we could visit her new office in Denham.

Later tonight, Dave made pumpkin bisque soup for us - a rare treat!
