Rome Special: Disaster Prevention at Home!

On Wednesday, October 30, 2013, while I was enjoying the warm weather of Rome, Italy, there was a particularly bad rain storm in the city of Lexington, Kentucky, U.S.A., my hometown.  I had a large, quite dead tree in my side yard, waiting to get cut down. The storm knocked it down across the sidewalk.  My next door neighbor, who was generously watching out for my house, noticed it and thought it might be dangerous for the Halloween trick-or-treaters the next night.  She called Theresa's boyfriend, David.  He came over to my house, and chopped down the tree and took the big trunk pieces home to his parents for firewood.  Bless his heart!

When I got home, I noticed that the tree branches had been pulled over in the yard, away from the sidewalk.  Hmmmmm!  How could I get them cut small enough that the recycle truck would take them?  I envisioned myself with my hand saw, cutting them up.  Meanwhile, I had errands to do in town.  When finished, I came home to a wonderful sight: my other neighbor was working with his power saw to cut down the branches!  I came to thank him and he said, "My pleasure.  That's what neighbors are for."  He had all the branches cut into a nice big pile.  Bless his heart!

The next day, the city recycle crew trucked them off.

Praise God for the Angels who took care of this for me!!
